So far in her prolific career, author Gail Sheehy has written 17 books, and one of those books has been named one of the 10 most influential books of our time by the Library of Congress.

The book was called Passages and it changed the way we look at the stages of our life. She wrote it in the 1970s and now that Sheehy is in her 70s, she’s still raising the bar and opening a window into her fascinating life in her new memoir, Daring: My Passages.

Sheehy talks about how this is one of the most exciting times in history for women 60 and older. She describes how her mentor Margaret Mead taught her about the power of “post-menopausal zest.”

She offers her fascinating observations on how aging has changed as the Boomers have moved from their 60s into their 70s, and how she’s found getting older to be an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling time.
