Virginia Madsen is one of the most versatile and talented actresses working today. And it doesn’t hurt that she happens to be gorgeous!

In fact, she was once voted the Most Beautiful Actress in Film. She was one of the hottest actresses in the 1980s, with roles in movies like “Dune” and “Fire With Fire.” But she really made an impact with her Oscar-nominated performance in 2004’s “Sideways.”

The film business is in her blood. Her brother, Michael Madsen, has starred in movies like “Reservoir Dogs,” “Kill Bill” and “Thelma and Louise.” Her mother, Elaine, is an Emmy-winning writer and producer.

In fact, Virginia and her mother collaborated on a fabulous documentary, “I Know A Woman Like That,” a film Roger Ebert described as transformational and extraordinary. It profiles the lives of extraordinary older women between 65 and 90 years old.

Virginia says the film was inspired by her own mother, who Virginia says continues to grow more independent and fabulous with each birthday. She says she wanted to show other women that aging can be a liberating and it isn’t what it used to be.

In the documentary, they even interviewed Growing Bolder Radio Show guest Barbara Hillary, a cancer survivor in her 70s who was the first black woman to reach the North Pole.
