When faced with the choice of following the path of wealth and riches or taking the hard route to make a difference in the world, Tom Bloch chose to do the right thing and he says he’s never regretted his decision.

Tom left his high-profile and high-paying job as CEO of H&R Block to teach math at an inner-city middle school in Kansas City. It wasn’t an easy transition, but what he experienced inspired him to discover a roadmap for improving education for all.

He founded the University Academy, a college prep charter school in Kansas City. Its success has been unprecedented and Tom says the formula is simple — better teachers equal better students.

Tom writes about his experience in his new book, “Stand for the Best.”
