The Growing Bolder Awards

In

There was nothing OLD and everything BOLD about the Growing Bolder Awards. This event highlighted the achievements of seniors who, as valuable members of communities everywhere, are pursuing their passions and living lives of purpose while making a difference in the lives of others.

The first-annual Growing Bolder Awards, brought to you by Senior Resource Alliance and Winter Park Health Foundation, honored the men and women who inspire those around them and who have gone largely unrecognized. Their example serves as a powerful reminder to all of us that we can enjoy lives filled with passion and purpose at any age. Held in front of a sell-out crowd at the the state-of-the-art venue Full Sail Live, on the campus of Full Sail University, the ceremony featured 20 awards in a variety of categories. Some of the awards included: the Power of Positivity Award; the Adventurous Spirit Award; the Hero of Hope Award; and the Geriathlete® Award.

“Aging is not a disease; it’s an opportunity. The gift of extra years is one of life’s greatest blessings, and we can’t wait to celebrate and salute those who are smashing the stereotypes of aging for the rest of us to follow,” said Growing Bolder Founder and CEO Marc Middleton, who hosted the Growing Bolder Awards.

With 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, a growing number of seniors live in isolation, in declining health with limited resources. Through events like this and its platform of television and radio shows, magazine and social media channels, Growing Bolder is committed to not only addressing these needs but to inspiring people of all ages to smash the many demeaning and debilitating ageist stereotypes that have plagued our culture for generations.
