Home Provides Cozy Safe Haven in Covid-19 Times

“Home Sweet Home” is not a cliché. It’s a lifestyle in the world of Covid-19. The desire to make homes and living spaces more comfortable and accommodating is a priority to people seeking balance in a time of isolation from the outside world.

That observation is clear, based on a recent poll involving 2,000 Americans, 62 percent of whom reflected that sentiment.

The poll was conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Thermador, which sells home products and accessories.

“Many people are making various enhancements to their homes, such as adding built-in coffee machines in master suites and reworking garages to create in-home exercise rooms,” a spokesperson for Thermador said.

“It’s more important than ever that living spaces reflect peoples’ lifestyles, so investing in home improvements and remodels enables them to create a truly customized and functional environment.”

The data revealed that one in four respondents have upgraded a kitchen appliance, and another 50 percent have elevated their home décor. And 19 percent of the respondents said they have transformed their entire living space since March 2020.

It’s an understandable dynamic: People are looking to feel comfy-cozy in their homes, now that they are spending more time there.

And here’s the best data: nearly two-thirds of those surveyed by OnePoll said they feel the happiest they’ve ever felt in their homes.

It leads to another obvious observation — home is where the heart is.
