Ricky Byrd

You may not know his name, but you certainly know one of his signature guitar riffs.

Ricky Byrd has played with the likes of Roger Daltry but he’s probably best known as the lead guitarist for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

After a lifetime of playing with others, at 60, he’s now doing his own thing, with a new album called “Lifer.”

Ricky describes growing up being a big fan of Lenny Bruce, Bob Hope and George Burns and how he tries to incorporate some of their humor into his rock shows.

He describes how he sees his guitar style and how artists like Chuck Berry, Keith Richards and Jeff Beck have influenced him.

Plus, find out why rockers like him, who are in their 50s, 60s and beyond, can not only still rock, they have no plans of slowing down.
