George Etzweiler sets records by running up mountains. He couldn’t even run a mile until he was 50, but he made up his mind that it was important and he stuck with it. This year, he set an all-time record at the Mount Washington Road Race in New Hampshire — a 7-mile run straight up the highest peak in the Northeast. It’s a climb that reaches 4,700 feet. What makes this incredible athletic feat even more impressive is the fact that George is 98 years old!

He talks to Growing Bolder about running this challenging race for the past 13 years and offers a pep talk for those who think they’re too old to get active. Spoiler alert: you’re never too old!
