She has made more than 40 films in five languages with stars like Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, starred in Broadway and off-Broadway shows and on most of the grandest stages in Europe.

Marta Eggerth is still performing and recording, and she is 100 years old.

She says she realized at a very early age that life is precious and she’s always been grateful. 

What’s her secret to keeping her voice strong for all these years? She says she never stopped exercising her voice — she says she’s kept it alive. In fact, she just came up with a new exercise program for her voice.

Marta says staying interested in other people, in life and how the world develops is crucial to longevity, and as long as she’s living, she plans to stay just as interested as she is today, which includes reading the New York Times cover to cover every single day.
