Maggie May the Wonder Dog

Veterinary surgeons at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists are now certified to do a one-of-a-kind stem cell therapy to treat dogs suffering from arthritic pain.

The Vet-Stem Regenerative Cell (VSRC) therapy is now being used to treat arthritis, as well as tendon and ligament injuries in dogs. This therapy may soon be applied to the treatment of humans as well.

The veterinarians extract fat from the dogs own body, send the fat to Vet-Stem where experts isolate stem and regenerative cells, and then inject those cells back into the animal for treatment. Dr. Jacek de Haan recently used stem cell therapy to treat Maggie May, a ten-year-old Australian Shepherd.
