At 72, Lou Whitney does things not many people at any age can do. Whitney is not only a pioneer in Veterans Motocross racing — he’s a competitor.
Whitney is a part of the fastest growing division of the sport, and staged the Veterans Motocross Championships in February of 2008.
Although he no longer races, Whitney does another type of riding — adventure riding. He goes on an annual ride to places like Mexico, the West Coast and Canada.
He talks to Growing Bolder about his thousand-mile trips and where he plans to go this year.
