Entertainment Expert Jay Boyar Joins Growing Bolder as Commentator and Magazine Contributor

Bolder Broadcasting, Inc., producers of the national Growing Bolder TV and Radio shows and Growing Bolder Magazine, announce that Pulitzer Prize-nominated film critic and author Joy Boyar is the newest contributor and commentator.

Previously, Boyar’s work has appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Orlando Sentinel and on MSNBC, E! Entertainment Television, WESH-TV and WMFE-FM. For Growing Bolder, Boyar will examine films and other media and offer reviews, analysis and commentary, all through the 50+ prism.

“Jay has a unique, entertaining and thought-provoking approach to how the film industry has both shaped and been shaped by the changing opportunities for actors and audiences of all ages,” says Bolder CEO Marc Middleton. “We’re thrilled to have his contribution to our network as we continue to grow our list of big-name contributors to the Growing Bolder team, and I know our readers will appreciate the insight he brings.”

Boyar has served as a juror for the American Film Institute and is a co-founder of the Florida Film Critics Circle. He also teaches film analysis in the Burnett Honors College and Film Department of the University of Central Florida and at Rollins College in Winter Park. Currently at work on a book about American film comedy, one of Boyar’s first contributions is for Bolder Arts in the May issue of Growing Bolder Magazine, where he examines some of the actors and movies that are smashing the stereotypes of age.
