Hosted by two-time cancer survivor Wendy Chioji along with Growing Bolder’s Marc Middleton and Bill Shafer, Surviving & Thriving is nominated in the Human Interest category, which celebrates excellence in subject matter that appeals to the human spirit.

“Struggle is a universal human experience — we all need inspiration from people who have not just survived, but thrived in the aftermath,” says Middleton, founder and CEO of Bolder Broadcasting. “We are very proud to continue bringing our audience the stories of men and women who are standing up and fighting for all that life has to offer.”

Presented in partnership with Florida Hospital and WKMG Local 6, Executive Producer Jackie Carlin is accepting the EMMY® nomination on behalf of the Bolder Broadcasting team. “It’s always wonderful to receive recognition for work that makes such a big difference in people’s lives, and we’re very proud to continue shining the spotlight on so many role models.”

Winners will be announced on December 13, 2014.

Bolder Broadcasting is also announcing that Surviving & Thriving will be offered nationally in 2015. “The success of Surviving & Thriving in Central Florida shows us that America needs more hope, inspiration and possibility, so we’re very excited about the expansion of the program,” says Executive Producer Katy Widrick. “Not only does the show connect with our viewers, it offers unique opportunities for our programming partners and sponsors to connect with our passionate and loyal audience.”
