How many times have you watched all the horrible things that make up most newscasts and wondered if anyone ever does anything nice anymore? It happened to Debbie Tenzer, and one day, she just couldn’t take it anymore.

She began an e-mail campaign urging her friends to do something nice for someone, at least once a week. Just by word of mouth, that e-mail list started to grow and grow until it became its own Web site. DoOneNiceThing.com is a motivational outpost that reminds us that we all have the power to initiate change in our communities.

Debbie says it wasn’t always easy, even for her, to remember to do something nice every day, so she settled on once a week. Now, you can go to her site for tips, discussions and inspiration.

She’s just written a book called, “Do One Nice Thing,” and it’s filled with easy ways to make the world a little bit nicer.
