There is no getting around it — age can be a cruel and heartless beast. Here’s a statistic for you: in this country, there are more than 15 million people over the age of 60 losing their eyesight to macular degeneration. Fortunately, these days, age can also be a time of discovery, hope and possibility.

For about 10 years, Dan Dunbar was legally blind from macular degeneration. Then something remarkable happened. He learned of a new surgical treatment option that would implant a tiny telescope into his eye, restoring his vision.

And at the age of 81, he’s discovered a new passion — snow skiing. He’s not just hitting the bunny slopes, he’s hitting Black Diamond slopes.

Dan explains how he got off the sidelines and back in the game. Find out more about this revolutionary procedure and the one form of entertainment that absolutely astounds him now after a decade of vision loss.
