Celebrating the Legacy of Michael Graves

In

The design and architecture world lost one of its true superstars when Michael Graves, the celebrated post-modern genius, passed away. Growing Bolder contributor The Design Tourist Karen LeBlanc met Graves at his New Jersey home for what would be one of his final interviews.

In the last decade of his life, Graves was paralyzed. It certainly did not affect his ability to design but it certainly did change his focus. Karen joins us on Growing Bolder TV to discuss Graves’ lasting legacy, including his passion for universal design in the wake of his own paralysis. He talks about how his own personal experiences propelled him to focus on making life more accessible to seniors and others with disabilities.

Plus, you probably know Graves’ name from his line of household products for Target. Graves explains what inspired him to tackle the challenge of redesigning everyday objects.
