In its first season, “Surviving & Thriving,” the television show dedicated to shining a spotlight on those who’ve overcome tremendous obstacles to emerge stronger and better than ever, generated much attention and earned an EMMY® nomination.

This year, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

“Surviving & Thriving” is produced by Bolder Broadcasting, Inc., the team behind the nationally syndicated “Growing Bolder,” with support from WKMG Local 6. For its second season, Bolder Broadcasting is proud to announce a new multi-year, multi-platform partnership with Florida Hospital to share the stories of those who are surviving life’s toughest struggles and inspiring the rest of us to face these challenges with hope and confidence.

Four one-hour specials will air once a quarter in primetime on WKMG Local 6 and will be hosted by two-time cancer survivor and long-time Central Florida anchor Wendy Chioji.

“For both of my cancer battles, Florida Hospital has been crucial to my survival. Even for my latest diagnosis, I traveled from Utah back to Central Florida to continue my care at Florida Hospital. I’m excited to help spread the message about the life-saving staff, treatment options and care available at Florida Hospital,” Chioji says.

“We know that one of the most important elements of a patient’s treatment program is his or her attitude. Every day, we’re amazed by the courage, spirit and grace our patients show, and we want to help others just beginning their journeys see what’s possible,” says Sy Saliba, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Marketing & Planning at Florida Hospital. “Through Bolder’s ‘Surviving & Thriving’ program, we’ll have an exciting new opportunity to tell the stories that inspire us on a daily basis.”

This latest project expands upon Bolder’s longstanding work with Florida Hospital.

“For the last several years, Florida Hospital’s Healthy 100 program has been one of our biggest supporters as we share the Growing Bolder message of hope, inspiration and possibility,” says Bolder founder and CEO Marc Middleton. “Our two organizations are aligned in our beliefs that the lifestyle choices we make today have a powerful impact on the quality of our lives tomorrow.  We’re honored to partner with Florida Hospital to share these inspirational stories and prove that with world-class care, the support of family, friends and community and a positive attitude, anything is possible.”

In addition to the WKMG specials, Surviving & Thriving stories will also appear on Growing Bolder TV, the Growing Bolder Radio Show, in Growing Bolder Magazine and on Bolder Broadcasting’s network of online platforms, including GrowingBolder.com, the Growing Bolder Radio Network and the Healthy 100 Radio Network.

The first episode of “Surviving & Thriving” is scheduled to air in April 2014. Stay tuned for more details!
