When Monisha first met Anthony, she was terrified of dogs, which complicated their new relationship since he owned and loved dogs. Today, they’re married and dedicated to raising money to help shelter pets find their forever homes. When you find a cause that makes you want to take action, it’s what we call Move Forward. Give Back®.
Monisha explains how she went from fearing dogs to becoming a devoted animal lover and defender through their group Franklin’s Friends, named in honor of their first pet together. Monisha explains how falling in love with Franklin, an English foxhound, set her on a path that would change her entire life.
They formed their nonprofit group Franklin’s Friends in 2003, raising $500 that first year. Since then, the group has raised more than $900,000 for local animal rescue, helping to fund everything from vans to transport shelter animals to pet adoption events to life-saving surgeries for injured animals.
See first-hand how the tiniest donations make the biggest difference in the lives of our most vulnerable friends — shelter pets.
