365 Marathons in 365 Days

A Belgium man says he’s running to save the world.

And it’s a goal Stefaan Engels is not taking lightly. He just set a world record — he ran a marathon every single day for 365 straight days. He ran those 10,000 miles across seven countries and multiple continents.

He says he likes running but more than anything, he likes challenges.

Stefaan says his motivation for running is simple. He wants to prove to people that if he, an average 49-year-old man of average talents, can accomplish such an amazing feat, you can achieve anything you set your mind to do.

He explains some of his past medical issues and why doctors told him he should avoid sports. Plus, he explains how his style of running — slow and steady — has not only made him healthier, but he’s never experienced the wear and tear on his body that many fear with running.

Stefaan also explains what lessons he hopes people learn from his world record and his new book, “Marathon Man.” He says his example doesn’t mean you have to go out and start running (although he recommends it!), but he says his example can be used to help you in your personal and professional lives.

And find out how many pairs of shoes he went through during his 365 marathons and how he handled traveling on marathon days, sometimes long distances.
