Hello Everyone,
I would like to explain to both Republicans and Democratics, so I don't seem narrow minded as to why I am not voting for Obama. Yes, I agree with a lot of his issues on the environment, women's rights, gay rights, and universal health care, but Obama is not the right Democratic to elect. If someone else was running that was a Democratic I would consider voting for them based on the fact that Democratics want to not restrict anybody's rights or take them away.
I don't personally agree with abortion, but I don't think the government should make the decision for people as to whether or not they should have one. Personal issues are not what the government should make decisions on. I have the same view about gay rights. I don't think it is morally correct for gays to marry, but the government shouldn't make those decisions for people.
I have some ideas I agree with the Republicans on like: low taxes and each person being able to own a gun to protect themselves. I also agree with them on the war issue about how we need to fight terrorism. I don't like war, and I believe nobody does, but we cannot let the enemies take over our country, so what are we to do exactly? I can understand to a certain agree if someone is against the war as well. Is it a cause we can win or we wasting lives?
I consider myself an open minded Moderate(Independent) in politics. If Obama did not have all of these questionable stuff out all about him I might consider voting for him. I probally agree more with the Democratics than the Republicans in most of my ideas even though I also have a lot of Republican ideas as well. I hope for the best in that all of this controversial stuff about Obama is not true, but you never know? I don't want to take the chance in voting for him, and finding out that it is. Would be pretty scary. I don't think any of you guys whether you be Democratic, Republican, or Independent should take the chance either.
