Cancer
I was saddened to hear the reports of the pancreatic cancer diagnosis for Patrick Swayze. It is also disheartening to hear differing versions from the media, ranging from "5weeks to live"
to a very "early stage case showing excellent results from his treatments". I certainly hope the latter is the correct one. I was diagnosed with a very rare form of pancreatic cancer in1983, and was told I had 2 years to live. Twenty five years, 4 other different types of cancer, and 212 triathlons later, I am still here. So a cancer diagnosis does not always mean a death sentence. And fortunately (as in my case) the doctors are not always right in their prognosis.
I really believe that a positive attitude is extremely important in fighting illness battles, and in my case
lots of good doctors and plenty of exercise have helped me.
I hope that Patrick Swayze is as lucky as I have been in beating his illness!!
