Writing is a great release of your thoughts and feelings. No matter what subject you write about, just the fact that you are writing, is unlocking your thought processes, using your memory, and exercising your brain.
When we get older, we eat differently, we exercise so as to keep our bodies moving, and keeping our teenage shape. At least we hope we can do this..;)
One area that most seniors fail to do is to exercise their minds. If we do not, then our mind becomes stagnant, and we start to forget. We forget where we put things, we forget birthdays, and we forget names of even our children.
The best way to exercise our mind, is by writing. Think of your youth, happy or sad times, and write about it.
Think of what you feel now, sad, happy, lonely, content....write about it. Do not be concerned about using the proper English or grammar...Just write. If you have a computer use it and save what you write. If you do not have a computer then ''buy one''
Learning how to use the computer can in itself be a challenge, and help your thought processes retain its sharpness.
If you need help on what to buy and how to start to use it, write to me and I will give you as much help as I can.
One day after you have finished writing about your life, go back and read it, and see how you feel about it. Gather the pages, and have it bound and realize that you have just written your first book!!
