Young Mom = Long Life?

Posted October 4, 2007, 12:47 pm by Growing Bolder

A young mother equals a better chance of living to 100. Centenarians are the fastest growing age group in industrialized countries but still only one in 10,000 of us will make it to 100. A new study from the University of Chicago's Center on Aging says the age at which a mother gives birth has a major impact on how long her child will live. Specifically, the chances of living to 100 are double for a child born to a woman before her 25th birthday. The father's age appears to be less important to longevity, according to their research.
