Picture of the Day: The Palm Jumeirah is the world's largest man-made island and one of the most unusual residential projects on earth. The island is shaped like a palm tree and is being developed off the shore of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The Palm has a trunk and seventeen fronds that arch into the sea, forming private neighborhoods of multimilllion dollar homes and villas. The palm is surrounded by a crescent island that serves as a breakwater and will be home to 28 hotels. The crescent is connected to the top of the palm by a subsea tunnel.
