"Like an Oldsmobile Sucking a Lemon"

That's how Time magazine described the Ford Edsel. In production from 1957 to 1959, the Edsel turned out to be the most colossal flop in automotive history. But was it? There are about 5,000 still on the road today. And to the people that own them, they are proof that beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. So was it a brave try that was ahead of its time, or was it, as detractors described it, an Oldsmobile sucking a lemon?
