It's been quite a year for NFL head coach Tony Dungy.

By leading the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl win on February 4, 2007, the 52-year-old became the first African American coach to win the championship. And he joined only two others to win the Super Bowl as both a player and a head coach.

If you ask Dungy, he'll likely talk about the pride he feels for his players and his team. He'll tell you about the hard work it took to get where he is. And he'll most likely share his very personal story, the way he does in his memoir.

In January, 2008 -- just a year after the Super Bowl win -- Dungy celebrated another success. His memoir, "Quiet Strength: The Principles, Practices & Priorities of a Winning Life," has now reached 1,000,000 copies in print. That makes it one of the best-selling hardcover sports books in history. And it's pretty amazing, considering the publisher only ordered an initial print run of 170,000 copies in July 2007.

Dungy is very vocal about his passion for helping others. He's involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Athletes in Action, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the American Diabetes Association, and many more.

Dungy says, "I have really been overwhelmed with the response to Quiet Strength ... Getting to one million books in print is certainly a milestone and beyond what I ever imagined. I thank God for the platform He has given me."

He and his wife, Lauren, are the parents of six children: daughters, Tiara and Jade, and sons, Eric, Jordan, and Justin, and the late James Dungy.

I'm such a dedicated Colts fan, and I knew great things would happen when Tony Dungy agreed to lead my favorite team. Coach Dungy is great not only on the field, but off as well. His book is such an inspirational read! His dedication to his family, his players, and his community sets an outstanding example for all of us to follow.
