Breaking Up is Easy to Do

Another marriage bites the dust! Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn and his wife, Robin Wright Penn, just announced that they are splitting up. The couple had been married for 11 years and have two teenage children.

Penn is 47 years old -- he won an Academy Award for the 2003 movie "Mystic River," while Wright, 41, is in the movie "Beowulf" which opened in November.

2007 was a rough year for celebrity marriages. Wrestler Hulk Hogan and his wife Linda called it quits after 24 years of marriage. NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and his wife Shaunie announced their plans to divorce.

And it's not just celebrities who aren't able to go the distance. A recent study found that between 40-50% of all marriages end in divorce, although in recent years, the numbers have dropped.
